| Betty Owens-Assunto passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2006 in a suburb of New Orleans, LA.
Betty performed with the real Dukes of Dixieland in the late 1940's and early 1950's. She married Freddie Assunto and raised three children, Mike, Jan and Angela.
Betty had been in a rehabilitation facility since suffering a heart attack at Thanksgiving dinner of 2000.
